Want to enjoy beautiful countryside, stunning views and invigorating exercise and make new friends whilst you're at it?
You can come on two walks before you need to join so you can find out if the club is for you. Contact us in plenty of time before the walk you are interested in and we'll give you the walk leader's contact details. We ask that you contact the walk leader before attending your first walk. This is to ensure that you are adequately prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear and that the distance and terrain of the walk are within your abilities. There is no charge for walks.
The Northumbria Walking Group is part of the Ramblers Association so to join us you must first join them and state you wish to join Northumbria Walking Group as your Local Group in the appropriate box.
The easiest way to join is by completing the Ramblers' on-line membership form, and you may join immediately by credit or debit card. To ensure that you are correctly allocated to our group's membership list, please select "Northumbria Walking Group" into the local group box on the form.
Once you've joined
Once you've joined The Ramblers (or if you are already a member) you need to send either your membership number or the electronic receipt that is generated when you sign-up to the Northwalk.org.uk webmaster via this form. You will then be added to the Northwalk.org.uk website and e-mail list. You will receive an e-mail containing your username and password which you can use to log-in to the members' area. The members area has a detailed walk calendar and you will be able to post to and receive e-mails sent to the group e-mail list.
As a member of The Ramblers you get 10% off at many outdoor shops so it may be worth waiting until you get your membership card before buying your new kit!
Before coming along on a walk please ensure that you've looked carefully at the Safety Checklist and the Walking Grades.
